Beef Shawarma
Ottawa Lebanese Festival

Ingredients
- 1 kg sirloin tip steak
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 sliced medium size onions
- 1/2 cup red vinegar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Tahini Sauce (to go with the Beef)
- 1 cup sesame seed oil (tahini)
- 1 garlic clove
- Lemon juice
- Water (as necessary)
Preparation
Shawarma
- Slice steak thinly
- Slice onion thinly
- Add remaining ingredients to onions and pour marinade over beef.
- Marinade for 4 to 5 hours or overnight.
- Put more vegetable oil in a pan and cook beef on medium heat
Tahini Sauce
- Mix all ingredients, gradually adding water to reduce thickness of sauce.
